McKinsey Global Institute’s 2011 study surveyed the potential value and competitive advantage that can be extracted from big data. It identified several ways that public and private sector organizations could benefit by managing and using their big data assets:
Yet, traditional relational data tools cannot effectively manage huge volumes of unstructured and semi-structured data that are stored by virtually all organizations. Left unmanaged, this data results in substantial value losses measured in unnecessary costs, off-target product development, and unrecognized business opportunities.
Adopting data management best practices is an effective way to identify and improve business and IT processes that enable value creation. Automated data management software supports data management best practices and delivers substantial value to organizations that incorporate it into their unstructured data management processes.

Today was always going to be a special day.
When Pingar India Technologies Pvt Limited was incorporated in June last year, I do not think that any of the team would have expected so much progress would have been achieved in such a short time.
Back in February, Pingar signed a partnership agreement with CMC Limited, a TATA enterprise, in the presence of New Zealand cricket legend, Sir Richard Hadlee. I had the honour then of meeting senior Indian ICT company executives and it became clear to me that a significant increase of investment was required to build up and support our Indian partner eco-system.
Today, two other cricketing greats, Daniel Vettori, Captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL team and veteran all-rounder, Scott Styris of the Chennai Super Kings IPL team, cut the ribbonat thePrestige Atrium to celebrate the opening of our new custom-built offices in Bangalore’s CBD.

As part of their longer term commitment to Pingar and specifically its market development activities in India, Sir Richard Hadlee, Daniel Vettori& Scott Styrisannounced separately today that they had all invested directly into Pingar. For them, working out team strategies on the playing field is no different to enterprises developing strategies to manage the exponential growth of unstructured data. It’s a team effort that requires both detailed planning and the right tools to do the job.
As part of the enlarged Pingar team, Sir Richard, Daniel& Scott will assist identify ways in which we can collectively work together with Indian business and software partners to build a strong and significant presence not only Bangalore, but in all the major business&IT centres across the country.
I have posted before on the launch of the Pingar Champions League in India. Over 200,000 software developers were introduced to the Contest two weeks ago and our API server loads are testament to that. On 14th May, we will be interviewing 15 finalists and then announcing 5 winners. We will be publishing a Pingar Champions League Showcase Gallery that will feature all the finalist submissions. Connecting with the best ‘Big Data’ innovators in India and enabling them to demonstrate their work to a global audienceis a key outcome of the Pingar Champions League contest.

I am spending the next four weeks in India meeting key business partners as well as supporting our team recruit both business development & technical engineering support teams. Over the coming weeks, we will double the size of our existing team and the new offices opened today allow for that rapid expansion.

Today’s events enable Pingar India to take the next steps in its rapid journey to bring powerful text analytics & content analysis API tools to the wider Indian developer community. As I travel across India over the next month, I intend to meet as many people in this community as possible to explain the importance of this technology.
For on-going updates on that journey and for further details on the progress we make, you can access the Pingar twitter handle at @PingarHQ
