All roads lead to San Francisco Bay next week and the Pingar team are delighted to be involved in two of the biggest events of the year.

At SPTechCon, we will be demonstrating some our latest API components which have been designed to help SharePoint administrators and SharePoint users get better value from their SharePoint investment.

  • We will demonstrate how metadata can be automatically assigned to documents as they are uploaded to SharePoint
  • We will show how documents can be sanitized or redacted on the fly
  • We will demonstrate the power of Entity Extraction and explain how this assists companies such as Deloittes Consulting save time and cost when processing thousands of unstructured data documents
  • We will talk about Custom Taxonomy Generation, the amazing one-click taxonomy engine that Pingar will be releasing shortly to automate the build of custom enterprise taxonomies.

You can also listen to Owen Allen, Pingar VP Solutions, who is giving two presentations at SPTechCon: SharePoint 2010 Foundation – Back to Basics and SharePoint 2010 as a Platform for Business Solutions.

The Pingar Team will be located at Booth 805 in the main exhibition hall. We look forward to meeting you.

The O'Reilly Strata Making Data Work Conference 2012 is the leading event for the people and technology driving the data revolution. The home of data science, Strata brings together practitioners, researchers, IT leaders and entrepreneurs to discuss big data, Hadoop, analytics, visualization and data markets.

At Strata 2012, the Pingar team will be demonstrating some of the key business applications that the Pingar API components can deliver to manage some of the major challenges posed to enterprise by ‘Big Data’.

Dr Alyona Medelyan, Pingar Chief Research Officer & Dr Anna Divoli, Pingar Senior Software Researcher, will be speaking to the conference on the subject: Mining Unstructured Data: Practical Applications at 1:30 pm PST Thursday, 01 March 2012 in the Mission City B1 room.

Alyona & Anna are heading up some of Pingar’s most exciting research work. You can meet them at Booth 814 where they will be pleased to talk to you about not only what is available today, but more importantly, what the future holds.

To coincide with these two major events, Pingar has updated the API component Demos that appear on our website. These have been redesigned to help users get a better understanding of the power of the Pingar API.

We have also created a number of short videos to support each API component Demo. These walk you through the Demo and also give examples of some of the practical business applications that can be developed using that particular component.

Finally, we wanted to give you the opportunity to hear directly from some of our amazing Research team. We asked them to talk about some of their favourite research work. You can see the resulting videos which have now been posted on the Research Team page.

Next week is going to be a very exciting week for the team at Pingar. We love the interaction we experience at major shows. It allows us to gather user feedback – an essential ingredient in helping us define our future research & development roadmaps.

We look forward to meeting up in San Francisco and Santa Clara and sharing some of Pingar’s vision of the future.

Peter Wren-Hilton, CEO
