The partnership to will provide enhanced systems to enable enterprises gain business value from unstructured documents. Pingar’s technology is available for both English and Chinese language applications, making it especially well suited to the many GSL customers that require solutions for both languages.
Pingar and GSL are exhibiting at the SharePoint Conference in Hong Kong where they will be demonstrating scanning technology for the automatic assignment of metadata.
GSL is a widely respected supplier of scanning, OCR and document management solutions that address specific business challenges with offices and support centres in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. “Pingar’s technology is extremely complementary to our current portfolio”, comments Alfred Law, General Manager of GSL. “It fills the gap between traditional scanning/OCR solutions and document and information management systems by automatically indexing and cataloguing the thousands of documents organisations create or receive every month. It offers a very strong return on investment and we are looking forward to presenting the technology to our customers here and in China”.
GSL and Pingar will work together to identify opportunities where the Pingar technology can be leveraged to bring significant operational efficiencies and cost savings to their resellers and end user customers. Working together, they will help customers improve a variety of business processes and operations including compliance and auditing; business intelligence; workflow, collaboration and sharing; and the development of new lines of revenue.
Peter Wren-Hilton, Pingar’s CEO who is in Hong Kong for the announcement of the GSL partnership and the SharePoint conference, says “We are delighted to be working with GSL who have established an excellent reputation in the region for the quality of the solutions and support they offer and whose customers and business partners include many of the biggest and most respected government departments, financial and commercial enterprises in Hong Kong. This partnership further demonstrates the power of the Pingar API in applications that enable organisations to extract value from and make sense of the massive number of documents they hold whether those documents are in electronic or paper format.”
Pingar’s API is scalable, lightweight and easy to deploy, and platform agnostic. Pingar and GSL will be delivering solutions to assist with workgroup and departmental scanning, mobile scanning and image capture and high volume capture. These solutions can integrate with any enterprise deployment, either within the enterprise or in the cloud.
